Tanglewood is a wanderlust view of a teenage world that takes you to a place of raw youth vulnerability and female self-empowerment. This feature film offers healing for anyone who’s been damaged, betrayed or hurt by someone they thought loved them back.

 

STORY.

Early summer, 2009 leaves a mark on Magz she can’t erase. Rooted sexism and southern suppression plant a seed in her mind that bad boys are a good time. Ready to get away from the pretension of prep school, Magz and Lana begin their summer hanging with old and new friends, sneaking out, trying drugs and alcohol. Juggling the summer heat and hormones while stuck living in a bad neighborhood they end up entertaining themselves in all the worst ways, at the influence of town ring leader Charlie Merc. 

 

PROOF OF CONCEPT.

In March 2019 Tanglewood shot the proof of concept trailer. Created to show the mood and quality of the feature film. Maggie used the Music composers and BTS photographer as the main characters in this trailer. Shot in two days in Wilmington NC the proof of concept provides a sneak peek into the highly visual script of Tanglewood.
